When Do You Need An Activity Release?
An Activity Release and Indemnity Agreement must always be signed by:
- All those participating in any off campus event or travel sponsored by the Department of Housing and Residential Life or one of our partners. This includes student staff.
- All those participating in any on-campus event considered out of the ordinary in terms of the activity being performed that is sponsored by the Department of Housing and Residential Life or one of our partners. For example, a rented inflatable. This includes student staff.
- If the student is 18 or older, they may sign a release for themselves.
- If the student is under 18, their parents must sign a release AND consent for medical treatment.
If you are going on a trip, do not take the completed and signed forms on the trip with you. These should remain on file in the residence director's office for one year past the event.
