Whitney's Biography


Whitney is from the great state of Oklahoma, by way of Oklahoma City! She received her Bachelor of Science in Family Life Education with an emphasis in Child Development from the University of Central Oklahoma (Go Bronchos). She then went on to earn her Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis on Student Affairs from the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner). While attending graduate school, Whitney served as a Graduate Resident Director, where she taught the Resident Assistant Leadership class and worked interchangeably with over 100 resident assistants within Housing and Food Services at the University of Oklahoma. Whitney began working at Texas State University in July of 2017, where she currently serves as a Residence Director within the Department of Housing and Residential Life. Whitney has served as the Residence Director for Sterry Hall and is now the RD for Tower Hall. In addition to her responsibilities as an RD, Whitney also serves as a campus advisor for various student organizations and teaches the University Seminar class (US 1100).

Whitney is a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, where she works to serve the greater San Marcos community! Whitney loves to binge watch various Disney Channel shows, sleep, shop and spend time with family and close friends! Whitney’s lifelong motto is the great quote from Tony Robbins which states, “Change is inevitable. Progress is optional.”
