Located in Retama Hall, this living-learning community is for students who have been formally accepted into the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre, Acting program.

Faculty Advisor
Julio Catano
Joining the Department of Theatre and Dance in 2022, Julio serves as Faculty Advisor for the Living Learning Community program at Texas State University. He currently serves as Head of Musical Theatre Dance for the Theatre Division. Prior to his current role, he worked as an Adjunct Professor in history at Syracuse University and was a performer in musical theatre and dance for 15 years. Past performance credits include The Kennedy Center, La Jolla Playhouse as well as national and international tours of West Side Story and The Addams Family. Julio received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance performance from Fordham University in conjunction with The Ailey School and earned his Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University. In 2020 Julio founded a nonprofit, Teatro San Diego, with a mission to serve arts education and performing arts to underfunded border communities in southern California.
