Enhance Your Academic Experience
Classroom instruction, independent study, textbook learning and theory will always be the centerpieces of college education. Living on campus allows students to build upon those centerpieces with solid co-curricular experiences and academic support opportunities. Hall programs bring students together and facilitate emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Some topics include study tips, crime prevention, substance abuse and financial management.
Experience Something New!
In addition to social activities, residence halls offer a diverse array of educational programs. One day students can be viewing their peer's artwork and learning to paint on their own, and the next they can learn how to get involved in Special Olympics. Speak to a resident assistant to make a request for topics of interest!
Interact with Faculty
Faculty interaction within the halls allows students to see the personal side of Texas State's many professionals. Faculty members come to the halls for formal presentations and to facilitate study groups.
"It was nice to have a professor come to the hall because it made them seem like real people and I felt more comfortable talking to them. It made them more approachable after one had been in my home." – Nicole Minardi-Sophomore/Interior Design
"The review session has really helped me study and figure out what to focus on." - Tracy Dalrymple-Sophomore/Undecided
