The following is a list of potential opportunities for campus residents. For more information on these opportunities, talk to your resident assistant or residence director. For other opportunities on campus, visit www.studentorgs.txstate.edu.
Hall Councils
Each residence hall has a council that plans hall events, represents students needs, sponsors intramural teams, etc. Each council has a representative in the Residence Hall Association (RHA).
Texas State Residence Hall Association (RHA)
RHA is the coordinating body and umbrella organization for the hall councils. Each resident is a member and is welcome to attend meetings. RHA is comprised of an executive board, a general assembly and standing committees. This group represents residents to Residence Life, campus administrators, universitycommittees and the Associated Student Government. RHA also works to improve the physical, social, cultural, recreational and intellectual atmospheres in the halls. For more informtion, visit the RHA website!
Activities and Volunteer Opportunities
In addition to joining an organization, there are occasions throughout the year that require student support. Volunteering for these projects will allow you to make a difference on campus and in the community. Some examples include Homecoming, Race for the Cure and Bobcat Build (www.studentaffairs.txstate.edu/svc).
Peer Student Conduct Board
This organization was created by Residence Life as an alternative to administrative review. Peer influence, through the judicial process, can be more effective in changing student behavior patterns than other methods of discipline. Click here for an application.
Residence Life Student Employment
Make a difference by joining Residence Life. We hire students to serve as desk workers, resident assistants, peer assistants, conference assistants and staff assistants. Students invlved with RHA may also apply for paid RHA positions.
