Contracts
Housing contracts must be completed by any student required to live on campus (housing policy). These contracts are binding for an entire academic year.
Contract Cancellation (for new students no longer attending Texas State)
Incoming students who choose not to attend Texas State after having submitted a contract are eligible to withdraw. For consideration, please complete this form.
Contract Release (for current students requesting to break contract)
The housing contract is legally binding for the entire academic year. Exceptions may be granted in exteme circumstances such as withdrawal from the university, graduation or student teaching.
Exemption Request
The university housing policy requires that students under 21 with less than 52 hours live in a residence hall. Certain exceptions such as commuting from within 60 miles, marital status, etc. do apply. For exemption consideration, please submit this form to Residence Life. We require five to ten working days to process a request. Medically-based requests may take up to 15 days. Only admitted students may submit an exemption request.
Exemption Request-Based on Summer Hours
This form is for returning students required to live on campus that will meet the 52 hour minimum after completing summer courses before the first day of fall classes. Repeated classes do not count toward your total credit hours. This form must be submitted with a housing contract.
