Crime Stoppers – 512/245-STOP (7867)
Students with information about a crime or the location of a fugitive, should contact Texas State Crime Stoppers, 24-hours a day at 245-STOP! Names are not required and good information could earn someone a $1,000 cash reward.
Hall Entry System
Each hall is secured with a card access system that allows only residents of that hall entry on nights and weekends. Main doors are only unlocked during desk hours when a staff member is present to monitor guest entry. A resident’s student ID card serves as the hall access card. Residence halls may be entered only through specifically marked doors. Residents should not allow others to piggyback on their entry. Others coming into the hall should use their own card to gain access. Residents should contact the front desk if there are problems. Guests should be met at the door and escorted by a resident in the hall.
On-Campus Escorts
The University Police sponsors two escort services, Bobcat Bobbies and the Midnight Express. These services provide safe escorts between residence halls, campus buildings and parking facilities. The Midnight Express assists students getting to their cars during the hours after the TxTram stops its service. The Bobbies escort service is available from dusk to midnight.
