Housing assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. The Department of Housing and Residential Life (DHRL) begins accepting new student contracts in October and returning student contracts in February for the following school year. New students will be assigned beginning in June with returning students receiving priority. Assignments will continue to be made through August until the semester begins.
Disability Related Requests/ Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The residence halls and university apartments provide a living environment that allows students access to the campus and its facilities. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Texas State recognizes that students with disabilities may have special housing needs, therefore a variety of living options are available to these students. It is the responsibility of the student with a disability to make their housing needs known to the DHRL in a timely manner. Failure to do so may result in a delay in the requested accommodation.
