Forms & Contracts


Housing Contract-New Students
Incoming students must submit a housing contract if you are required to live on campus. Complete this form and mail it with a $300 prepayment to Residence Life. We can only accept contract from students admitted to the university.  

Housing Contract-Returning Students
If you are a current student planning to return in the hall, you must live on campus unless if you are under 21 with less than 52 hours. Please complete this contract and turn it in at your hall's front desk. Once you receive a confirmation email, visit the Bobcat Housing Preference System to choose your hall.

Exemption from University Residency Requirement
The Department of Residence Life at Texas State University – San Marcos is both an educational and a business enterprise of the University.  The role of Residence Life is to support the academic mission of the University through the provision of on-campus housing. Therefore, in support of the educational mission of the University, and the value of the on-campus residential experience to students, all students who are under the age of 21, with less than 52 college credit hours (by September 1st for Fall-admission or January 1st for Spring-admission)are required to live in on-campus university housing.  Certain exceptions such as commuting from within 60 miles, marital status, etc. do apply.  To make a request for an exemption please complete this form and attach all required documentation and submit to the Department of Residence Life.  Some exemptions may take up to 21 days, so please allow adequate time.  Only students who have officially been admitted to Texas State University may apply.

Housing Contract-Spring 2008 Only (Halls)
Please use this contract if requesting a residence hall space for spring 2008 only. Complete and return to Residence Life with a $300 prepayment.

Housing Contract-Summer
There is not a housing requirement for the summer. However, housing is available if needed to current and newly-admitted students. Submit this form to reserve space in a summer residence hall.

Cancellation Form (for new students no longer attending Texas State)
Incoming students who choose not to attend Texas State after having submitted a contract are eligible to withdraw. For consideration, please complete this form.
Cancellation Form (for students who are currently attending Texas State)
Current students who will not be enrolled for the next semester. Exceptions may be granted in extreme circumstances such as withdrawal from the university, graduation or student teaching. For consideration, please complete this form.

Contract Release Form (for current students requesting to break contract)
The housing contract is legally binding for the entire academic year.

Resident Assistant Application
We are currently accepting applications for our 2008-2009 RA Staff. Please click the above link for more information. All application materials are due by Noon on February 4, 2008.

Peer Assistant Application
As a Peer Assistant you will be a student staff member of the Department of Residence Life. Generally, a PA's principle duties include serving as the adviser, peer counselor, friend, resource, and facilitator for residence hall Freshman Interest Groups (FIG) of eight to sixteen men and women. This position will provide you with great leadership experience and an opportunity to learn more about your major. PA's are provided your half of a residence hall room at not cost in the hall with their FIG is housed. All application materials are due by March 4, 2008.
Peer Student Conduct Board Application
The Residence Life Peer Student Conduct Board is a group of students who attampt to achieve a suitable living environment in campus housing while affording individual students maximum personal freedom within community standards. A judicial meeting with the Peer Student Conduct Board fosters an atmosphere of respect for the rights of others, responsibility for one's actions, and encourages self-discipline and community accountability.

Residential College Application
Residential College students are block enrolled in core-level classes with their hall mates. This increases the liklihood of study groups, note sharing and leads to lasting friendships.
