Conference Assistant (CA): This position is available during the summer. CA's live in a residence hall and work with summer conference groups. They work the front desk, provide customer service and deal with emergency assistance that a camp/conference may need. Click here for an application.
Hall Desk Worker: The typical responsibilities of a desk work includes tasks such as giving out change, sorting mail, answering the phone and checking out equipment to residents. Click here for an application.
Maintenance Workers: The student maintenance crew works on various projects around campus including assembling and repairing furniture and working alongside the student moving crew to help deliver furniture to students and staff.
Mover: This position involves moving furniture to the residence halls. This furniture may include couches, bookshelves, desks and mattresses. At times this position will also require assembly of office furniture. The applicant must be able to lift 50 pounds comfortably and must be able to work effectively with others.
Office Assistant: An office assistant provides support to the administrative offices. Responsibilities include tasks such as answering phones, filing, copying, & data entry.
Painter: This position involves painting residence hall rooms, hallways and offices. No previous painting experience is required. Must be able to work effectively with others.
Peer Assistant: A PA's principle duties include serving as the advisor, peer-counselor, friend, resource and facilitator for a residence hall Freshman Interest Group (FIG) or 8-16 men and women.
Resident Assistant (RA): RA's serve as an advisor, peer-counselor, friend, disciplinarian and resource for a residence hall floor of 30-50 men & women. An RA works the front desk, performs on-call duties and implements programs for the residents. Click here for more information.
Senior RA: In addition to the regular RA duties, a Senior RA has additional administrative duties such as assisting the residence director with hall responsibilities. The senior RA is also a resource and mentor for other staff members. Traditionally, a senior RA has at least one year of experience as an RA.
Staff Assistant (SA): This is a specialized position in which each individual has a particular area for which they are responsible. This includes assistants for computer labs, facilities, marketing, programming, judicial, web and Blanco/San Saba.
Tech Support Workers: Provide technical support for the department. Needs skills with repair and installation of computer equipment. In charge of necessary upgrades for departmental computers.
